Duncan Shand Profile


Duncan has over twenty years commercial experience applying finance, sales and marketing, and general management skills across a range of businesses from large corporates to small businesses, including NCR, Air New Zealand, ICPbio, and ihug.
 

In 2004 Duncan started the InsideOut Consulting Group, to assist New Zealand businesses with the development and implementation of their growth strategies. InsideOut prides itself on its research based collaborative approach to working with clients. InsideOut has worked with a diverse range of clients from large corporates through to startups  (see full client list).


Career highlights have included working on the rebranding of Air New Zealand and managing its long-haul product development, working in the biotech sector to relaunch ICPbio one of New Zealand’s pioneering veterinary medicine exporting successes, and rejuvenating ihug’s profile and business results after a long period of marketing inactivity.


Duncan has a BCom (Economics & Management), DipCom (Accounting & Finance), and a DipBus (Marketing) from the University of Auckland. Duncan is an advisory director for 3 companies and a member of the Insititute of Directors. He supports small business through Business in the Community and the IceHouse (Auckland University Incubator). Duncan has had a number of articles published by the NZHerald and contributed to Email Marketing by the Numbers by Chris Baggott.
